Trabant Trek is a unique awareness and fundraising campaign for the street children of the world. Each of us are self-funding our way across half the world to highlight the plight facing the children of various countries en-route. In addition 100% of all donations will go directly to our two chosen Cambodian Charities.
Inspired by the work of the M'Lop Tapang and Mith Samlanh Charities in Cambodia we, as conscientious adventurers, have resolved to be more than simple backpackers. We are travelling for a cause - to raise awareness and much needed funds for Cambodian street children.
The aim is to raise $300,000 to assist Mith Samlanh in saving its center for street children in Phnom Penh and M'Lop Tapang in its determined efforts to reintegrate these children into their communities.
We have decided the best way to gain publicity for these charities is to embark on an epic mission from Europe to Cambodia, in what the London Times has deemed "The World's Worst Car". In doing so we hope to draw attention to our chosen charities.
We urge you to wander through this site and become a part of Trabant Trek. This can be done by encouraging us on our message board, joining us on myspace to spread the word or, most importantly, by providing a tax-deductible donation for the hard-working charities we support.
So please, break into your piggy bank, find that loose change and ravage your bank accounts because every last penny will go directly to M'Lop Tapang and Mith Samlanh to help street children in Cambodia.
Thank you for your support, we could not do this without YOU!
